Common questions

Why isn't this a real translation?

Dogs don't speak a human language, so there's no scientifically accurate way to turn a bark into English sentences. Bark Talk's AI listens to the sound of the bark and your dog's profile (breed, size, personality) and makes a playful, personality-styled guess at the mood and a fun “translation” — it's meant to be entertaining, not literal. Every result in the app carries a reminder that it's just for fun.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so they're cancelled in iOS rather than in the app: open Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Bark Talk → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before your current period ends to avoid being charged for the next one. You keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.

I paid but the app still says I'm not subscribed.

Open Bark Talk, go to Settings and choose Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple Account you bought the subscription with. If it still doesn't come back, email us and we'll sort it out.

How do I delete my data?

In the app, go to Settings → Delete my data. This removes your dog's profile, photo, recordings and translation history from your device and from your iCloud. You can also just email us at talzvi99@gmail.com and ask us to help, or see our Privacy Policy for more detail on what's stored and where.

My dog got scared of the sounds — what should I do?

Start quiet. Some dogs are startled by barks, whistles or clicker sounds played at full volume, especially the first time. We cap volume at 80% by default — turn it down further in the Sounds tab, play clips from across the room at first, and watch your dog's reaction before playing anything close up or on repeat. If your dog seems anxious rather than curious, stop and try again another day at a lower volume.

How do I ask for a refund?

Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We can't issue them ourselves, but tell us what went wrong and we'll do what we can to help.

Can I suggest a feature or report a bug?

Please do — send it to talzvi99@gmail.com.
